Reading Aloud Practice

Bellow are a number of texts for reading aloud practice.  I took these texts from some of WhatsApp English Learning groups that I join in.

I read them aloud and post my audio of each text. I also post some audio of a friend of mine. I invite you to comment on my audio regarding the pronunciation, the accent, the content or other things.

I would be very thankful if you could read aloud as well. People and I can learn from your audio.

Note

Each audio has its number. Please mention its number as you leave your comment.

New Opportunities for Communicatin

Of all the languages in the world, English is undeniably the language that allows so many people to communicate. Even when people are not native English speakers, by learning English, new opportunities to meet, interact and communicate with people are created.

When you can speak and read English, it is possible to communicate with people all over the world and gain more from travel experiences.

It is dangerous to assume that learning English is easy or straightforward. Learning any language can be challenging and demanding, but the rewards that are available through command of the English language more than compensate for the commitment that is required.

One day, Pam's cousin came to meet her at school. After talking to him she returned to the class. At that time, the teacher was writing something on the blackboard. Pam didn't say anything and quietly went inside the classroom and sat down on her seat.

After writing, the teacher went to Pam and asked her, "Who was he?" Pam replied with fear, "He was my cousin brother." The teacher again asked the question and Pam gave the same answer.

The teacher then shouted, "I am asking who was Galileo." The whole class burst into laughter when they came to know that both teacher and Pam had misunderstood each other.

"Fear or Respect"

A long time ago a very cruel king was ruling a city. All citizens were fearful because of his cruelty.

The king has a dog named Jack, which he used to love more than anything. One fateful morning Jack died. The king organized last rituals for the dog. Entire city came to a cremation ground. The king was very happy to see that people love him so much. He felt he is the most popular king in the world. After few days the king died, but no one came for his funerals.

Moral: Respect is something you have to earn. You cannot force it on others to respect you. There is a thin line between Fear and Respect. Every one of us should understand it and do necessary corrections in our personalities.
